The Painted Desert to Sedona, AZ (TEA Day 19)

We left the hotel yesterday morning and we went to the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park.

Arizona!

There it is! It was fantastic!

It was so pretty! The colors were so vivid, it is no small wonder that it is called the Painted Desert. It was extremely windy there, and by extreme we mean up to 50 mph winds.

Here’s Mom’s hair going crazy.

This is an old car from Route 66. The line of telephone poles marks where it used to travel.

This is the Painted Desert.

This is supposed to be a mountain lion. We don’t know where that came from.

We went on this 0.4 mile hike, and there were so many petrified logs in so many sizes, it was so amazing. It is the largest concentration of petrified wood in the world.

This is “Old Faithful,” the largest log in the park.

We then drove a little while to Sedona, AZ. We are now staying in the Desert Quail Inn. Sedona has very good panoramic view. As Dad says, “Whoa!”

We went swimming at the Desert Quail Inn. Charlie really likes swimming.

We ate at the Oak Creek Brewery and Grill in Tlaquepaque. We’re not quite sure how to pronounce it.
