Buddy Holly and Prairie Dogs (TEA Day 15)

DSC02144

We arranged to meet Uncle Rob at the Yoga Bean coffeshop/yoga studio.  We each had different kinds of muffins: Marty had banana chocolate, Eddie had double chocolate, and Charlie had vanilla chocolate chunk.

Then we went to the wonderful tire shop and got some new front tires. Now all of our car tires have been replaced on this trip.

Next, we went to the Buddy Holly Center. They had his glasses and his guitar there, and we watched a documentary. We learned that although he only recorded for two years, he had an incredible impact on future music artists and stars.

Wow! Eddie is a Buddy Holly lookalike!

Following that, we went to the prairie dog town. It’s an enclosed, but full of wild prairie dogs.

Then Uncle Rob took us to his parish, Holy Spirit, where Aunt Katie is the Director of Music and Uncle Rob is the organist.

Everyone got a chance to play on the organ.

Next, we went to the Llano Estacado Winery, where Mom and Uncle Rob did a tasting and Eddie and I went on a quick tour.

Now we’ve been to both a winery and a bourbon distillery.

We’re now at Uncle Rob and Aunt Katie’s, waiting for some southwest-inspired Italian takeout.

  1. How hard is it to play the organ? Cuz you've got like, 3 keyboards and a foot keyboard.
