This morning we went to Glacier Point, which offers an excellent view of Half Dome and a lot of other stuff.
We enjoyed looking into the valley.
After we got back, Charlie and Mom went to the Pioneer Museum while Dad, Eddie, and Marty caught the shuttle to Mariposa Grove.
Charlie liked the Pioneer Museum. His favorite part was the old post office, because there was a table set for lunch.
The Mariposa Grove is the largest grove of giant sequoia redwoods in Yosemite, with over 500 mature trees. Dad, Eddie, and Marty hiked about 5 miles, reaching an elevation around 1000 feet above where they started, and saw all of the famous trees.
This is the Bachelor and the Three Graces.
This is the Grizzly Giant, the largest tree in the park.
This is the California Tunnel Tree.
Marty’s a tree-hugger! He can’t really reach around this tree though.
Here’s the Wawona Tunnel Tree, which fell over. It is one of the most famous trees in the world.
It was really big too! And by really big we mean massive.
This is the Faithful Couple.
The Grove was really cool, but our feet hurt. A lot.
The Faithful Couple is super neat. :)
