Whitewater Rafting, USA/Waterton Lakes, Canada (TEA Day 48)

7/15

On July 15th, Marty and Eddie went whitewater rafting with Sr. Maria Pio. They had a lot of fun!

Marty wore his GoPro camera, so he got some pictures. He also took some videos, which will be on his blog here.

We started off on Moccasin Creek, which then joins up with the middle fork of the Flathead River. The trip took about 1 1/2 hours to travel 8 miles.

While Marty, Eddie, and Sister were rafting, Charlie went with Mom and Dad to go minigolfing. They also did a tricky maze. Charlie had a lot of fun as well.

After rafting, which was in West Glacier, we drove back to East Glacier and from there to Waterton National Park in Canada.

While we were there, we took a boat trip on Upper Waterton Lake from the Waterton Townsite, Canada, to Goat Haunt, USA.

This is the Prince of Wales Hotel.

As part of a treaty between the US and Canada, the border between the two countries must remain visible. So this is what happens when the border is in a forest.

Here’s a rare rock formation, near the bottom right. The rock actually folded in on itself, which doesn’t happen all that often.

Back in Waterton, we ate here.

Wildlife! We saw a bear! It was very exciting. We think it was a black bear, although it’s hard to tell at this distance.
