7/12
On July 12th we bid a fond farewell to the house and Griffin…
…and to the DA’s (we said goodbye to the B’s the night before).
We then drove a while until we reached the Grand Coulee Dam. It is a mile long, and provides power for the whole Pacific Northwest.
It’s really big!
Then we drove even more. We tried to stay in a town in Washington, but there was a big convention, so we got to go to Idaho! for a hotel.
We found one in a town called Coeur D’Alene.

We went to Mass in Couer D’Alene. The church wasn’t air-conditioned, so the priest mentioned that it was hot. He said, “It’s hot in here. Last night at the 5:00, I kept reminding myself, ‘Could be worse. We could be in Hell.’”
We got doughnuts after Mass! It felt like a real Sunday!
Then we drove some more, on our way to Glacier National Park.
Let us tell you, it was hot.
Montana!
Mountains! It was so gorgeous in Glacier.
We stayed in East Glacier, at the Dancing Bears Inn.
We had a really nice cabin. It was humongous!
We all liked the spiral staircase.
This is an farm.
We ate dinner at the Whistle Stop Restaurant in East Glacier.
Eddie had a stuffed potato.
Marty had a bison burger, and Charlie had chicken fingers.
Then we got ice cream here, at Brownies.
